THE VOICE OF IOWA'S FIRE FIGHTERS |
The Iowa Firemen's Association is a state organization of your fellow Fire Fighters. Its dedicated to the improvement of the Iowa Fire Service and the general public, through legislation, better training, minimum standards for fire apparatus and equipment, fire prevention, public relations and information, as well as the various other problems that face the fire service from time to time. We find that there really isn't such a thing as a purely local problem; that if one fire department has a problem, usually many other fire departments are faced with the same problem. To help solve these problems, we work with the various state and federal agencies, as well as other fire oriented organizations. If a problem warrants, we will contact the Governor and when necessary, take our problems to the State Legislature. By uniting together for a common cause, we can better promote the Iowa Fire Service. Every Iowa Fire Fighter is eligible to be a member and every fire fighter should belong for the benefit of all fire fighters.

IFA DUES |
The dues to join the Iowa Firemen’s Association are $10.00 per year, per member. Note: Dues for new members who join after June 30th and through the convention meeting of that current year are one-half the dues ($5.00) for the balance of the year. New members who join after the close of the convention meeting will be given credit for the following year on payment of the annual dues ($10.00). |

JOINING AS AN INDIVIDUAL |
When joining as an individual, fill out the Iowa Firemen’s Association individual application form, complete with name, address, fire department, and also enclosing the dues. The membership card will be mailed to the individual. (For individual association application forms, contact the Administrative Assistant's Office or an Association Officer. All of which are listed on the Board Members Page.) You can also go to the "Joining As An Individual" page, print it out then and send it in. |

JOINING AS A FIRE DEPARTMENT |
When a complete fire department or several members of that fire department join the Iowa Fireman’s Association, and the dues are paid by or through the fire department, then only a list of the names of the members, as they wish them to be printed on the membership cards, of those joining is necessary, along with a check to pay for the dues, and the name and address of the Secretary, Treasurer, or the officer who is to be billed for the following year’s dues. We will also bill cities or fire districts for the dues when requested to do so by the fire department. It is legal and proper for the various governing bodies to pay the Iowa Firemen’s Association dues for members of their fire department. The membership cards for all members of the fire department will be mailed to that fire department. This application is also available by going to the "Joining As A Department" page. |

JOINING THE IFA MUTUAL AID ASSOCIATION |
Those who wish to join the Mutual Aid $500.00 Death Benefit must fill out a Mutual Aid Application form. For additional Mutual Aid or Association forms, contact the Administrative Assistant's Office. The number is on the Board Members Page. |
