Hall of Flame

In case you haven't heard yet the Hall of Flame at the Iowa State Fair is undergoing a major renovation this year. The entire display is being made to look like the inside of a fire station.

The display will have:

a new stop, drop and roll area
a small house for crawl low in smoke simulations
9-1-1 simulations
Sparky the Dog is being brought out of retirement
a scaled down fire truck (pick up size) where kids can turn on lights and sirens and use the radio
a working fire alarm system
firemen's gear on display
fire extinguishers
and a wall will be dedicated to the Firefighters Memorial in Coralville.

It will have a whole new look and a lot of good teaching tools.

Keep checking back for more photos as the progress continues on the building of the props. Make it a point to visit the fair this year, August 10 - 20, and see the Hall of Flame for yourself.
