Fonda Fire Department - Sunday, January 29th, 2012 - Annual pancake and omlet breakfast from 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Main St. in Fonda. Free will donations will be accepted.

University of Okoboji Winter Games - January 27 - 29th, 2012 - Inaugural "Guns 'N Hoses Boot Hockey Tournament" - Fundraiser with proceeds to be split between the area Red Cross to help replenish the funds exhausted by battling the Missouri River flooding and the Lakes Area Hockey Association as they raise capital to build an indoor arena. Held on Smiths Bay.

Tama Fire Department - Saturday, February 11th, 2012 - Firemen's Dance - 8 p.m. - midnight at the Eagle's in Tama. Music by EPR.
